Eligibility Criteria


For Bachelor Degree Programmes


a) B.Tech. 
Pass or appearing (in the year 2018) at 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Chemistry / Computer Science / Information Technology /Biotechnology / Biology / Informatics / Statistics / Technical Vocational subject or any other subject as approved by appropriate authority with atleast 45% marks (40% in case of SC / ST / OBC category).

b) B.Pharm.
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination conducted by the respective state/central government authorities recognized as equivalent to 10+2 examination by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (P.C.M) and or Biology (P.C.B / P.C.M.B.) as optional subjects individually. Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations. (As per the norms and regulations of Pharmacy Council of India)

c) BHMCT
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (2018) in any discipline with atleast 45% marks (40% in case of SC / ST / OBC category)

d) B.Sc. in Nursing (Basic)
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (2018) with atleast 45% marks in aggregate (Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together) and 40% marks in aggregate for SC / ST / OBC candidates and must have passed in English.
Age Limit : The lower age limit is 17 years as on 31.12.2018.

e) Post Basic B.Sc. in Nursing (Post Basic)
Passed GNM examination, and registered with concerned State Nursing Council.

f) BBA
Pass or appearing (2018) the 10+2 or equivalent in any stream.

g) BCA
Pass or appearing (2018) the 10+2 or equivalent in any stream having Mathematics.

h) B.Sc. in in Agriculture
Pass or appearing at 10+2 examination (2018) with not less than 50% marks in aggregate for admission under General and OBC categories, 40% marks in aggregate for admission under SC, ST and PH categories, with PCM/PCB/PCMB subject combinations. Candidates must have passed in English 10+2 examination. Age Limit: The lower age limit is 17 years as on 31.12.2018.

i) B.A. LLB. (Hons) and B.B.A. LLB. (Hons)
Pass or appearing (2018) the 10+2 or equivalent in any stream with at least 45% marks. Relaxable to 40% in case of SC/ST and 42% in case OBC. There is no upper age limit at present, however it is subjected to the decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India and BCI notification in this regard.
CLAT / LSAT qualified candidates are exempted from the entrance test, but they have to fill up the form.


For Master Degree Programmes


a) M.Tech.
Pass or appearing (2018) in B.Tech. or equivalent in the relevant field. Obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying Examination. OR Pass or appearing in M.Sc. (Electronics) are eligible for M.Tech. in VLSI Designing and Embedded System / M.Tech. in Microelectronics / M.Tech. in Digital Signal & Image Processing /M.Tech. in Communication System Engineering.

Pass or appearing (2018) in B.Tech. or equivalent in the relevant field. Obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying Examination are eligible for M.Tech. in Structural Engineering / M.Tech. in Geotechnical Engineering.

Pass or appearing (2018) in B.Tech. or equivalent in the relevant field. Obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying Examination. OR Pass or appearing (2018) in MCA or M.Sc. (Mathematics) degree is eligible for M.Tech. in Computer Science & Data Processing.

Pass or appearing (2018) in B.Tech. or equivalent in the relevant field. Obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying Examination are eligible for M.Tech. in Power Electronics & Drives / M.Tech. in Energy Technology & Management / M.Tech. in Renewable Energy Engineering & Management / M.Tech. in Power Systems & Power Electronics.

Pass or appearing (2018) in B.Tech. or equivalent in the relevant field. Obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying Examination. OR M.Sc. in Computer Science and IT are eligible for M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering / M.Tech. in Computer Science & Informatics.

Pass or appearing (2018) in B.Tech. or equivalent in the relevant field. Obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying Examination are eligible for M.Tech. in Thermal Science & Heat Power Engineering / M.Tech. in Manufacturing Sciences & Engineering / M.Tech. in Mechanical System Design.

A candidate with B.Tech. (Environmental / Chemical / Civil / Mechanical / Metallurgy) or M.Sc. (Environmental Science / Chemistry / Biotechnology / Geology / Life Science / Botany / Zoology) is eligible for M.Tech. in Environmental Science & Technology.

M.Sc. (Physics) / M.Sc. (Chemistry) / B.Tech. (Electronics & Communication Engg.) / B.Tech (Electrical Engg.) is eligible for For M.Tech. Material Science & Technology.

B.Tech./B.E. in Biotechnology or related fields / M.Sc. in Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Life Science or equivalent / MBBS / B.Pharm. / B.V.Sc. with Biology as a subject at +2 level are eligible for M.Tech. in Biotechnology.

GATE qualified candidates are exempted from the entrance test, but they have to the fillup the form.
Admission into M.Tech. programmes will be done on the basis of performance in SAAT-2018 or valid GATE score.

b) MCA
Pass or appearing (in the year 2018) at three year Bachelor Degree in any discipline from any recognized University with atleast 50% of marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC Category) having Mathematics at 10+2 level or at +3 level.
Candidates having Business mathematics at +2 or +3 level are not eligible.

c) MBA / MHA / MHM / MTTM
Pass or appearing (2018) minimum three years of Bachelor Degree in Science, Commerce and Arts / B.E. / B.Tech. / MBBS / B.Pharm. / B.Sc. Agri. / BVSC / BHMS / BAMS / BDS / BPT / BHMCT / BBA / BCA examination or equivalent, from any recognized University with atleast 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category).

d) M.Pharm.
Pass or appearing (2018) at B.Pharm examination from any recognized University with atleast 55% marks.
The admission of selected candidates shall be subjected to any other mandatory requirements as per the norms of Pharmacy Council of India.
GPAT qualified candidates are exempted from the entrance test, but they have to fill up the forms.

e) M.Sc. (Biotechnology / Nano Science & Nano Technology / Medicinal & Aromatic Plants / Molecular Biology)
Pass or appearing (2018) at Bachelor degree in Science / Agriculture / Pharmacy / Veterinary / Engineering & Technology / Medicine (MBBS/BDS) / Physics (Honours) / Chemistry (Honours) / Mathematics (Honours) or equivalent from any recognized University with atleast 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC category).

f) M.Sc. (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics)
Pass or appearing (2018) at Bachelor degree in Science Physics (Honours) / Chemistry (Honours) / Mathematics (Honours) or equivalent respectively from any recognized University with atleast 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC category).
g) M.Sc. (Chemical Biology & Drug Design)
Pass or appearing (2018) B.Sc. with Chemistry (Honours) / B.Tech in Chemical Engineering / B.Pharm / M.Pharm with atleast 50% marks (45% in case of candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC category).

h) M.Sc. in Nursing
Pass B.Sc. Nursing (Basic/Post Basic) Degree with 55% aggregate from an Institution recognized by Indian Nursing Council with a minimum of one year experience either in teaching or clinical area after registration in respective State Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife.

i) LLM
Pass or appearing 2018 Bachelor degree in Law or studied Integrated Law courses or equivalent thereof, from any recognized university.

j) M.Sc. (Agriculture)
Pass or appearing (2018) B.Sc. (Agriculture) / B.Sc.(Horticulture) from any recognized University by State and Central Government Marks in qualifying examination.

  • Candidate should have OGPA 6.5 and GPA 7.0 in concerned discipline on 10 point scale.
  • Candidate belonging to SC/ST/PH shall have OGPA 5.5 And GPA 6.0 in concerned discipline on a 10 point scale.
  • The requirement of minimum percentage of marks (OGPA/GPA) as indicated above shall not be applicable to the candidate sponsored by State Government/ Central Government/ Nominee of ICAR.

Minimum age limit is 21 year as on 31.07.2018. No relaxation in age limit.

ICAR / Departmental candidates sponsored by State Govt. and Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (Deemed to be University) employees to be admitted as in-service candidates are exempted from appearing at Entrance Examination.

k) MBA (Agribusiness)
Pass or appearing (2018) B.Sc. (Ag.)/ B.V.Sc. & A.H./ B.Tech. (Ag. Engg.) / B.Tech. (Dairy Science / Biotechnology) /B.F.Sc. B.Sc.(Forestry) / BAMS / B.Sc.(Hort.) / B.Sc.(H.Sc.) / B.Tech / B.Sc. / B.Com. / BBA from a recognized University with 50% marks for general and 45% marks for SC/ST/PH candidates and 55% for Graduate of Agriculture and allied subjects.


For Lateral Entry Programmes


a) Admission to 2nd year Degree Programme (Lateral Entry) in Engineering, Pharmacy & Hotel Management for Diploma holders: 

For Lateral Entry B.Tech.
Passed or appearing (in the year 2018) three year Diploma examination in Engineering / Hotel Management with at least 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) from State Council of Technical Education and Vocational Training (SCTE&VT), Odisha or equivalent. 
OR
Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC, with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed XII standard with mathematics as a subject.

Lateral Entry B.Pharm
Passed or appearing (in the year 2018) at two year diploma course in Pharmacy with minimum 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) from State Board of Pharmacy (SBP), Odisha, or equivalent.

Lateral Entry BHMCT: Passed or appearing (in the year 2018) three years diploma in hotel management or equivalent after 10+2 or equivalent, with minimum 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category).

b) Lateral Entry MCA
Pass or appearing (in the year 2018) in three year Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA), B.Sc. in Information Technology (H) and B.Sc. in Computer Science (H) or equivalent with Mathematics as a subject at 10+2 level or at Graduation Level, with atleast 50% of marks in aggregate (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category) at the qualifying examination from any recognized University.

c) Choice of Discipline
Candidates having Diploma in Engineering indicated under Column – I are eligible for admission into the corresponding discipline only mentioned under Column – II (Appendix - XVI). Candidates will appear a common paper in the entrance test and the branch allotment will be done during the counselling as per Appendix-XVI.


NOTE: Candidates appearing at the qualifying examination (in the year 2018) may also apply. But, they have to produce the pass certificate of the qualifying examination with pass mark in individual appropriate subjects as mentioned for different programmes on the day of counselling, failing which the rank / position secured in the entrance examination will stand cancelled automatically and they will have no claim for the admission as per the rank. The above mentioned clause is also applicable for passed out candidates.

e.g.: For B.Tech the candidate has to secure pass mark including in each of the following subjects - Physics, Mathematics and any one of the subject as mentioned in section 1 (a).
