Innovation Attache at Israeli Embassy visits SOA AIC
Ms. Maya Sherman, Innovation Attache at the Embassy of Israel in India, visited Atal Incubation Centre at SOA Deemed to be University here on Friday and interacted with senior SOA researchers sharing her insights about various matters including innovation ecosystems.
Ms. Sherman had a profitable discussion with SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda who shared SOA’s vision while Prof. Prasanta Kumar Panigrahi, Director of the Centre for Quantum Science and Technology, highlighted the university’s impactful research in the field of quantum science.
Dr. Manas Kumar Mllick, Director, SOA discussed the university’s forward looking vision and ongoing developments in emerging areas of science and technology with Ms. Sherman.
Mr. Rajeev Kumar outlined the mission, future roadmap and start up portfolio of AIC-SOA Foundation and conducted a walk-through of the incubation infrastructure.
Ms. Sherman shared valuable insights into deep-tech initiatives, innovation ecosystems and entrepreneurship practices in Israel. She also discussed with startup founders, budding innovators and faculty members who included Dr. Bharat J.R. Sahu and Mr. Chinmaya Ayesh.
Dr. Bijay Kumar Sahu, Senior Regional Manager and Head-Outreach of National Research Development Corporation, accompanied Ms. Sherman during the visit.
Dr. Sherman plays a key role in strengthening India-Israel innovation collaborations, particularly across AI, defence technology, startups, MSMEs, research and digital diplomacy. She is also actively involved in AI literacy initiatives with the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and represents Israel at global AI forums such as Global Partnership in Artificial Intelligence (GPAI).
